THEOLOGY HAS BEEN USED TO HURT PEOPLE
WE NEED A THEOLOGY THAT HEALS.
We need a theology that captures how ALL of God's work in the world is healing work.
Let's Put the 'Salve' Back in Salvation
God heals because God is a healer
Scripture gives us the picture of a triune God as healer—Jehovah Rapha [The God who heals], Jesus the Great Physician, and the Holy Spirit as counselor. This mission of God is the healing of all creation, and in the incarnation Christ becomes our healing salve. That's because God’s healing power takes on a physical form when the Word becomes flesh and dwells among us.
Theology that Heals captures the story of salvation as the story of God's therapeutic work in the world. But this is more than just an intellectual argument, this is about understanding how God is at work in our healing so that we can be healed, and so that we can partner with God in the healing of his creation.
